Question:
Are there any support groups in Wichita, KS????????

I recently had a revision a VBG to RNY with a Dr. in Topeka, KS. There was no Doctors in Wichita that did revision. (I checked that is why I had to go to Topeka) Since I did it in Topeka I can't attend the support groups for the doctors here that do WLS without going to thru program, pysch, diet etc. and therefore paying their fees of over $500.00. I think that is crazy since all I want to do is attend a monthly meeting with others who had the surgery, therefore a support group. I want to be successful in this procedure and it is so different from my VBG. I would love to start a support group in Wichita, if anyone is interested in meeting. I can go to Topeka, but find it hard to drive five hours for a one hour meeting. Any suggestions or help would be great. Also I interested in writing a book on WLS that just tells our side of the good and bad of WLS. So if anyone is interested in sharing, I would love to have the opportunity of incorporating our side of weight loss. Thanks for listening....    — Bonnie S. (posted on April 17, 2005)

In Junction City there is a post-op support group on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at 5 pm. It's at the Geary community Hospital Medical Office building on the third floor, you can't miss the signs.The next meeting is May 10th. I f you have questions you can call Patty at the Liv-Lite office at the Hospital. Even though you had your surgery in Topeka you are always welcome to attend the support meetings. These meetings are free of charge and as long as you are a post-op you are invited to attend.
