Question:
what do you think?
I am four year post op and can eat a one thin slice and a half of pizza in one sitting then I'm stuffed. Is this normal at this point or is it too much? Most of the day I can only eat small meal still.... Thanks. — Rebe W. (posted on April 5, 2005)

Rebe, I think this depends on how large your pouch was initially. I am 3.5
years post and my pouch was 4 ounces. If I sat down to eat pizza I could
eat two pieces of thin crust and be full. Not miserable, but very full. I
think the amount is fine considering you are so far out. Hope this helps.

I am 18 months out and just recently had a major increase in how much I
could eat at one sitting. I found that out by accident because one day I
sat down to eat without really thinking about what I was doing and found
that I could put away a bunch more than I had been able to eat. I could
probably eat three small pieces of pizza easily without any discomfort so
sounds to me like you're in good shape. One and 1/2 slices of pizza is not
a lot of food.

Rebe-- keep in mind that pizza tends to be a very "soft" food, as
opposed to a solid protein like beef or chicken. I do not think that 1 and
1/2 slices of pizza is a lot of food, especially when you are 4 years
post-op.

Nice to hear that at 4 years post-op you mostly still eat small meals. No,
1 1/2 thin slices of pizza is not too much. I'd like to see you do that
with the thick slices though! LOL...I'm 3 years post-op and could probably
eat the same..the pouch does stretch over time but eventually balances out.
Take heart that you will never ever be able to eat the whole pie again!
