Question:
Has anyone post-op experienced their facial complexion clearing up or getting better?

Yes! I noticed the same thing about my complexion. Not only has my skin
cleared, but I’m also lighter than what I used to be. My derm.
told me that my once discolored skin pigmentation was caused by my obesity.

I have noticed much the same thing. My skin use to be blotchy and bumpy.
Now its almost completly cleared up beside the occassionly stress pimple. I
thought maybe it was because Im eating healthier foods and not eating so
many unhealthly and fat foods. Not real sure why. Jen

I am not yet 2 weeks post-op even, but have noticed a difference in my
skin. I have never really had problems with my skin. However, it is even
more so clear and smooth, almost like I had a cosmetic procedure done on
it. I thought I was just seeing things and maybe my pain med had messed
with my head. However, when friends come to visit, they say I have a glow
to my face.

I am 4 months post-op and my complection has cleared up completely. I use
to have very oily skin and a lot of breakouts, I'm in my late 30's and
never thought that I would be free of acne... not only has the wls helped
my weight, it has helped my skin. All the good, healthy food and none of
the junk. I believe is the reason, but whatever the cause I'm greatfull.

I've never really had a big problem with acne, but after my surgery my skin
and hair both were not nearly as oily as before. I am now almost 3.5 years
out and it's getting more back to normal. Not as oily as pre-op, but not
as dry either.

I am 6 weeks post op today and I came back to work today and every body
said I look good my face looks bright and clear as if I had the
"pregnant glow". Yes my skin cleared up and got brighter, I
think it is do to no junk like soda, cafine, or any other junk we filled
our bodies with before surgery.

Yes, I have noticed a BIG difference in my complexion. I am 9weeks post out
and had dermatitis really bad and it has almost cleared up. My face looks
smooth and has that glow. It is not irritated all the time either. I went
to the dermatologist about 2 weeks ago and lower the dose of my medicine,
because he noticed the change.

I am almost 3 years out and I can tell you that I had the OPPOSITE thing
happen! I went from having creamy, porcelain skin, to acne ridden jawline,
chin, even on my cheeks, forehead and back. It was horrible. After working
with a dermatologist for almost six months, we determined that the
weightloss put me through a second "puberty" and my on-going
periods and acne were "cured" by putting me on a low dose birth
control pill and Accutane. I have been on this combo for about 5 months
now, and my skin looks amazing, my back is almost all cleared up and I
don't even need to wear powder or foundation anymore. Everyone is
different!
