Question:
Is flax seed oil okay for us to take? I had surgery 2 years ago.

It is great for the heart. My Dr. recommends it. Put a couple of
tablespoons in your protein drink. the liquid is the best, and buy organic.
Keep it in the refrig. It will keep you from being constipated, so if you
tend to have loose stools, lessen up a bit.

I don't thinbk it'll do you much good, actually. One of the great features
of RnY is the malabsorption of fat. This means we don't absorb fat well.
If you want the bennies of flax, grind whole seeds fresh (in a coffee
grinder, or in Magic Bullet), then eat them as cereal, or sprinkle on
salads, veggies, cottage cheese.
Don't put into protein shakes (the seeds, that is), as i believe the fiber
makes protein unavailable. Take all fiber supps *before* vites, minerals.

I use flaxseed oil everyday in my breakfast "concoction". It
does help with constipation and is also fabulous for your heart. Make sure
it is organic and keep it refrigerated. I can't stomach putting it in
liquid so I have hidden it in my breakfast meal.
