Question:
Has anyone used Miralax post op? Long Term?
Please share your experience with me. I was prescribed Miralax after suffering for a long time with constipation. Is it safe to take long term? — Allison M. (posted on February 10, 2005)

My 2 year old was on Miralax b/c she kept holding it in and was all
'stopped' up. BOY did that gush is out of her...She is on it on and off.
If they prescribe it for a 2yr I would think its safe! All I know is when
she is on the Miralax...it just flows very very quickly! FYI!

Yes. I just asked my GI yet again, is it safe? He said, "every day,
for life". I'm not saying I am 100% about getting it in these last 5
yrs, but I tend to do 30 days bouts of perfection, slack a bit, then back
on. "MIRAcle LAXative" is right, too. But it's not truly a
laxative in the "makes you become dependent" way.

After jacking up my iron, I need to give it another shot, but Miralax did
not work for me before. I have the dumbest colon ever :)

I am over 2years post rny, and constipation has been my major complication.
I tried miralax for a while but the real cure came from a post on this
site. UP YOUR WATER. One 8-16 ounce glass of water first thing in the
morning everyday. As tough as it is to drink, I did it and it was the most
reliable fix. I also take 2 colace everyday. It works give it a try. 27mo.
post op and struggling to stay at goal!
