Question:
why am I losing so much faster on the top half then the bottom half
I have lost 184 lbs since 3/26/04 and am very happy with my results, however I am now a size 18/20 on the top half, but still wearing a size 26 onthe bottom. I started out much larger on the bottom then the top, but the bottom is being very stubborn and does not seem to be going down in sizes. I have lost inches, but t doesn't seem to help on the bottom half. Does any one have any advice on how to spped up the loss on the bottom half of the body. I do work out 3-4 times a week. I do not know the answer to that for sure. I have lost all over pretty
well...although for me the frustrating thing is I have lost 302 lbs but my
breasts are still rather nice size. Speeding up loss on the bottom half,
if you are going to the gym, I would talk to a trainer there and maybe you
need to concentrate exercise on the bottom half that will help the inches
move. Good luck!

Shelly, before I had my WLS, I always wore elastic waisted pants. After my
surgery I was also wearing the same pants. I wondered why I wasnt going
down in pant sizes and someone pointed out to me that as my tummy went down
the elastic just adjusted to the smaller size around my tummy, so I thought
about it, went to the thrift store and tried on some smaller size elastic
size pants and they fit. I was glad someone had told me about that. Good
Luck to you, Amy

You alway lose from the top first and it works its way down. The bottom is
always the last to go. That is the the female body works. Keep up the
exerise. It will come off. I was 329 lbs. I'm 19 months post op and I'm
down 180+ lbs. I have about 20 more to go and I working hard at it. One
thing to remember is as you lose you have to work out a little harder
and/or add varity. What you are going to see is inches will come off
before you see the scale moves. Don't play mind games. Just keep up what
you are doing, go on with your life and you will see results. Don't become
consumed with the scale. If you are eating correctly and exercising you
will see results. Good luck to you.

I was ALWAYS bigger in the bottom then on the top. I lost the majority of
my weight on the top first and then the bottom. I'm now actually smaller
on the bottom then I am on the top!! I think what REALLY did it for me was
walking. I walked 5 days a week - 2 1/2 miles a day in about 40 minutes
and I feel that helped in making the bottom half of me smaller.
