Question:
Has anyone gotten a DS done by the doctors of this program? If so can you tell me
about your experience with the surgeons and the other staff memebers? — CocoaPA (posted on January 26, 2005)

It would help if you posted WHO the docs are. But nevermind, I looked the
practice up on duodenalswitch.com, and it is

And lucky for you, they are well known DS surgeons. I would caution that I
have heard that they tend to be a lot more conservative than some other DS
surgeons, and may push for doing it in two parts (gastric reduction first,
then the switch after you've lost a lot of weight) if you are super
morbidly obese, but beyond that -- and keep in mind, this is at best second
hand information -- they are well respected in the field. Come ask this
question on the DS Forum

and you'll get more answers.

I have heard these Drs have good reputations, but I would not want to go
through two surgeries. You might want to look into Drs. Roslin, Kurian and
Shah at Lenox Hill. Their website is www.nomoreobesity.com. I know they
do the DS in one surgery. I had an rny with them, but there are Ds
post-ops in our support group who are thrilled with their results. Good
luck!
