Question:
Has anyone gotten approved by Blue Cross of Cali for a DS?

YES!! I was approved in October 2004 by Blue Cross of California and had my DS on November 30, 2004. Blue Cross CA approved the DS for many years, then started calling it investigational in 2001. Then in September 2004, they reversed their position again and started covering the DS. (I was approved in 3 days when my surgeon re-submitted my per authorization) It was certainly worth the wait. By week two, I was eating filet mignon and now, at eight weeks out, I am able eat just about anything I want with no nausea, vomiting, bathroom issues, etc. and I've lost over 35 pounds!
