Question:
Okay girls....help me out here
My period for the last 3 months has been very clotty, heavier and last A LOT longer than normal. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going to make and appointment with a GYN but I thought I would check in with you guys first. The only thing I can think of is that my hormones are all in an uproar because of my weight loss. thanks! Sue 263/123/? — SJP (posted on November 21, 2004)

HELLO J.P.,
I HAD ALREADY WENT THOUGH MENOPAUSE, DUE TO A HYSTERECTOMY,BEFORE I HAD WLS
IN FEBRUARY. AFTER WLS I WENT THROUGH MENOPAUSE AGAIN. IT WAS AWFUL AND IT
WAS FROM THE ESTROGEN THAT WAS STORED IN MY FAT CELLS. THE FAT CELLS
RELEASED THE ESTROGEN AS I LOST WEIGHT. MY POOR HUSBAND !
GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS,
LORIANN

I too, had a heavier than normal period after WLS. I have an appointment
with my GYN on Wednesday, to check everything out. Good luck to you!

me too to the point that I was becoming anemic in spite of supplements. I
had an endometrail ablation, where they basically cauterize the inside of
your uterus. ( not for anyone ever wanting a baby in the future) I now do
not have periods. It does not change your periods, just makes you not
bleed. my blood count really went up fast after that, I am no longer anemic
by any standards or even close to it. I cut my iron way back quite a bit
and will be rechecked next month.
