Question:
I have extreme nausea after eating...no matter what or how much?
Does anyone know what could cause this? It's after every time I eat. I'm 19 months post op. Thanks in advance for your help. — Renee B. (posted on October 27, 2004)

HI THERE,
I HAVE NO INSIGHT ON WHAT MIGHT BE CUASING THE NAUSEA. I GET NASUEA FROM
MENIERES SYNDROM. I HAVE FOUNG THAT GINGER IS GREAT FOR STOPPING NAUSEA.
WALMART SELLS GINGER CHEWS, OR ADD SOME GINGER TO TEA.
GOO DLUCK,
LORIANN

How does water taste? Does it hurt? Where? (I'm not medical--just by
answering these questions you'll have a more complete report for your doc)

Hi, I am now 16 months post op and I get nauseas at times too. Sometimes
its because I just simply over eat so I try to be more aware of how much I
am eating. Other times it just happens so what works for me is to chew
gum. Mainly any type of Spearmint gum and within a few minutes it's gone.
Not sure if its the spearmint taste that does it, but its worked for me
since I had surgery. Good Luck and great job on your weight loss!! Take
Care, Leslie

I've had this happen to me a couple of times for periods of time since my
surgery. It's just starting to get better this time after about a month or
so. I had a EGD done a week and a half ago and they found two small ulcers.
They think that may have been what was causing it this time. I am still
taking Reglan on an as needed basis, as well as Protonix and Carafate.
Seems to be getting better since they increased the dose of the Protonix.
Best of luck,
Kathy

I am 15 months post op and once in a while I have nasuea, especially if I
over eat by one mouthful, or if I eat too fast. I found that popping a
peppermint tic tac as soon as I feel the nausea, it calms everything down
in about 15 minutes.

Thanks all for responding! I'm going to speak to my doctor, because it's
still going on. Thanks again!
