Question:
Do you bruise easier now?
I'm over a year out. Down 126lbs. Take my vitamins and iron and calcium faithfully. I am finding that I bruise a lot easier now than I used to. I'm wondering if it is just because there's not as much "padding" as there use to be to protect me from bruising. Bruises are mainly on my legs, which I keep banging on my desk at work. It just seems so easy for me to bruise now. I'm going to my Dr. in 2 weeks. I will bring it up to him, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My labs have always come back fine. Thanks for answering. :-) — KellyJeanB (posted on October 2, 2004)

My stats are almost identical to yours. I was just for my year check up and
was sure my hemoglobin must be way down as I bruise so easily. Turns out
that was fine, infact it was great. Doctor said I just am bumping myself
harder because I dont have as much padding....I find bruises all over now
though...

Hi, Add chloraphyll to your vitamins. this will help with your bruising.
you can take pills or 30cc of liqid mixed with water or pinapple juice. All
the Best!Tracey

What are your iron levels, exactly? Taking it is good, but if not
absorbed, not so good. For some people, " a little low" is too
low, even if not clinically low. Vit K shortage can cause bruising, too,
but not as likely in our population. Do you have copies of your labs back
to the beginning? You might want to compare your iron and ferritin levels
and see what pattern has developed.

I too have heard a shortage of Vitamin K will cause bruising easily.

Iron Levels, Vitamin K, low Vitamin C and lots of things can cause
bruising. Go get your labs done and be sure.

Have your doctor run a blood work up. You may be lacking B's. This happen
to me when I went on a very strick diet several years ago. I would put my
hand on my face and get a bruise.
