Question:
Happy experience!!!
Last weekend we went to FLa to celebrate my parents 50th Anniversary. I hadn't seen any of the people there since I had WLS last year. I had bought a beautiful new dress, size 10, never wore a size 10 in my life. OMG, I was on a cloud. "You look like a little kid" " You're so tiny", "You are so beautiful" "You look wonderful. I was amazed, and it felt great. I even got up in front of everyone and read a poem that I wrote for my parents. I never would have done that 126 lbs ago. I danced with my dad, my brothers, nephews, just danced and had a wonderful time. AND, I fit so comfortably in the airplane seats, no extension needed with the seatbelt, in fact, I had enough left over I could have wrapped it around myself again. LOL. Ok maybe not that much, but I had a lot left over. I also fit in the airplane bathroom. It was an awesome time. I feel wonderful. And I just needed to share this with you. Thanks for listening. :-) — KellyJeanB (posted on August 29, 2004)

I am so happy for your experiences. It really makes all of your efforts
well worth it and definitely gives the incentive to keep up your diligence.
Best of luck on your continued journey.

Congrats to you!!! It is a GREAT feeling to just be normal. People who
have not experienced what we have just don't understand. I was out at a
club with a tall, thin friend of mine last night and in the old days, I
would have been the fat friend. A really cute guy (15 YEARS younger then
me) hit on me and when I didn't have a seat to sit in, he offered his lap!!
I sat down (again, something I NEVER would have done in the old fat days -
not that there were any offers!!) and I told him I didn't want to squash
him. He said, come on, you couldn't weigh anymore then a buck 15 (I now
weigh about 128) so there's NO way your hurting me!! Normal people would
have NO idea how good that was to hear from someone but for me, it was like
someone patting me on the back and saying good job!!

That is go GREAT! I have experience the same. I have had people walk right
by me and they didn't even recognize me until I spoke to them. I play
tennis, run, and bike ride. All things I had to give up. I'm currently in
a size 10 also. I'm 16 months post-op and have lost 190 lbs. Keep up the
great work.

Congratulations. It's a wonderful feeling isn't it? Nobody can
understand how all the events you describe actually feel like but another
post-op.
