Question:
Help - Confused - 400 remains - is that distal or proximal?

I asked the surgeon what type of surgery and he said proximal. Starts with 600 cm, ends with 400 cm. Did he answer my question on what the common channel is? Does that tell me what the total length is, not the common channel length? HELP!    — talkingkatz (posted on July 9, 2004)

He's my doc, too. I've never heard him use those types of expressions. He would either tell you the amount of common channel (he uses inches for us) OR the amount bypassed, if a proximal (and he uses cm for that). Perhaps if you asked again, you'd get a clearer answer.
