Question:
Has anyone successfully used mastic gum to treat H pylori?
I have learned today that my surgeon doesn't test for H pylori until a week or so before surgery. Of course if it's found then, the surgery will have to be postponed. I think this is an absolutely ridiculous policy, and want to make sure nothing will shop up on their tests. I've read that taking mastic gum resin kills the H pylori bacteria as well as the round of antibiotics that people are given if it's found they are infected. Has anyone successfully used this supplement to treat H pylori? Thanks! — Kelle W (posted on June 21, 2004)
