Question:
Looking for an experienced bariatric surgeon within the United Health doctor network.

My doctor referred me to Dr. Nestor de La Cruz at Mercy Hospital but I just found out that he is not part of the United Health doctors' network. I would like your kind assistance in giving me the names of top-notch surgeons for bariatric surgery, preferably at Mercy Hospital in Miami, who are in United Health's network. Your best bet is to go to the 'Find a Doc' section of this site and compare that to your UHC in net doc list. Most surgeons are not 'bariatric' surgeons, they are usually listed as general surgeons. If you don't have a list, then call your customer service number and as if those doctors on the 'Find a Doc' list are in network for your plan. Also, on MyUHC.com they have a list of participating doctors. When you do the search, look under general surgeons, you will find more matches. Rebecca Perkins
