Rose, I'd suggest getting to a support group for long term post ops if you
can. Also, I've read on here that the South Beach diet is a great plan for
losing and maintaining your weight. I bought the book yesterday because I
know I'll need something to help me when I get to goal. Also, if you can
find a counselor who specializes in eating disorders, that would be a great
help. Recognizing that you need help is the first step in getting it. I
wish you the best............deep down, I have a fear that I will fail at
this too. I think we all probably do so we do everything we can to prevent
it. Get really strict about your carb intake, drink LOTS of water, eat
ONLY protein when you snack and be sure you have plenty of protein with
your meals. Also get your "mechanics" checked, make sure your
thyroid is funtioning properly, and get some exercise if it is only walking
20 minutes a day.

Rose, hang in there. For me it takes daily awareness just to maintain
within a 10 lb range. I never made it below 250 (6' tall) started at 368.
I am over 2 years post op. If I am very good and nip out my snacking on
carbs and try to maintain exercise 4/5 times a week I can get myself down
to about 247. As soon as I let up, I go back up and usually stay around
253. For a long time I was very VERY upset by this. I refused to see the
writing on the wall, that maybe this was where I was going to stay. I am
trying very hard now to not concentrate on the number on the scale. Trying
to concentrate on eating right as much as I can. I also do not get sick
from anything I eat. Cookies are my main enemy. 230 is so much better
than 348 and I promise if you just dont let yourself go completely you will
not see that 348. I dont plan on ever seeing 368.

Go back to basics, many people stop focusing when they rech their goal wt.
we need to always watch what we eat. We will never be like the other folks
and be able to eat what we want with gaining. hang in there, just go back
to what we learned. Good Luck

OK, I'm going to post to you the SAME exact thing I'vw posted to two others
in you situation today...First, going from 348 to 226 is NOT being a
failure. I'm sorry that you havent reached your goal to date. But, having
the attitude that you've failed after loosing 120+ lbs is NOT going to help
you loose more. PLEASE take a few minutes to pay yourself some respect for
the success you've had to date. Then, take a few more minutes to
re-dedicate yourself to getting back to basics to get yourself loosing
again. I am a firm believer in getting professional help, so GO GET SOME
where you need it, psychological, support or nutritional...the resources
are there for you. You just have to use them. You still have your tool. You
know HOW to loose with it, you just need to make the mental transition from
FAILURE to ONGOING SUCCESS STORY. Good luck to you
