There are many reasons for this. That's why it's important to get your lab
done. I have this problem because of low blood pressure. But you can also
have this problem with lot potassium, low blood sugar and a host of other
problems.

when this happened to me it was because of dehydration ,you have to get
that water in you every day,its very very important

These types of questions should be answered by a qualified medical person.
However, to shed light on it I was told by my doctor and several post-ops
that there is a "balance" problem with after WLS - I'm not quite
sure if it is the fast lose of body fat or something else. Some doctors
give exercises to follow that will help you regain your balance. Another
thing that would make you dizzy is low blood sugar, low postassium intake
but again ask your doctor. He/she should know best.

I had these same problems when I was 1 1/2 yrs. out. Went to the Dr. and
found I was low in iron. Have your Dr. check your labs. Good Luck!

I get dizzy when I stand up - to the point that I have tunnel vision and
have to hold on to something. I have always had low iron and since my
surgery my already low blood pressure is at about the very lowest you can
get and still be healthy. I also had my Welbutrin prescription upped to 3
a day, and it's been worse since then...of course the bottle says may cause
dizziness - great! The thing to do is get your labs done, and when you
stand up, do it slowly. Good Luck! Open RNY 3/20/03 326/196/166
