Question:
What is your daily food intake 15 mos or more post op?

I'm right at 15 months post op RNY and my weight for the last few months has bounced within a 5 lbs range. I'd like to lose about 10-20 more lbs before all is said and done and I'm wondering what others out there are eating this far post op?    — Rhoni333 (posted on April 21, 2004)

At 22 months and at goal, I eat between 1500 and 1900 calories per day. I track it on fitday.com. If I do a monthly average it is about 1750. I eat protein first, then vegies, fruits, and whole grain carbs. I also have things like dessert and pizza on a limited basis. I still have to watch what I eat, but I have been able to maintain my weight within a few pounds for about 12 months. rny 6/4/02 320/132

Rhonda ~ I had my surgery in Jan '03 also. Like you, my weight has been fluctuating 4-6 lbs a month for the past 3 months. It seems some days I'm a bottomless pit and can eat more. Most meals are what I would expect: @ 1 cup or so of whatever. Some meals more, some meals less. For example, some days I can do an entire grilled cheese sandwich with fruit or chips. Other days, I can only do 1/2 sandwich with a few bites of fruit. As far as food tolerance is concerned, I can eat just about anything. I still get an occassional 'dumping-like' episode from time to time, but nothing like it was 6-7 months ago. Incidentally, your picture looks beautiful on your profile! Congratulations on your wonderful success! Open RNY 1/3/03 330/158 & happy!

Hi there! Iam 15 months postop also and my weight has been bouncing back and forth between 144 and 147 for the last month or so. Im hoping once I get my tummy tuck done Ill lose another 5-10 lbs. Most of the time Im able to eat about 1/2 to 1 cup of food at one sitting, and it depends on the type of food. If its steak or chicken, I can only eat about 3 ozs of it. If it's something like oatmeal or something liquidy, I can eat more. My appetite varies from day to day too. Some days I can eat more and other days I cant. I just try to remember the three main things, protein, water, and exercise. Good luck, you are doing great!
