Question:
I have been told that I need a revision.

Hello. I too have United healthcare PPO (options). I am in the process
too of getting a revision. I was not aware that they no longer cover WLS.
I called them several times and spoke to many different people and I was
told it was a covered benefit in my policy. Have you called them? Or is it
a new thing that they are just not covering it period. I would be very
interested to find out too. You can e-mail me privately if you want to at
[email protected]. Good luck to you.

Maybe YOUR policy no longer covers it, but UHC as a whole does. Please
don't make blanket comments like that...it scares the noobies. :P
<br>Anyhow, I had RNY surgery in 10/01 UHC decided that they would no
longer cover WLS for thier own employees as of 1/02. On 9/02 I had an
ulcer removal with a revision to correct where the scope poked a hole in
the staple line. Because it has been so soon after your surgery, they
shouldnt have a problem with correcting it. I didn't even need to seek
approval for the second surgery. Although that may have been because they
were in there anyway. Did they remove your galbladder during surgery?
Maybe you should wait till it goes bad...LOL
