Question:
This is another first in my life
Not a Q, but to add to my list of "this never happened before" things. I was talking to a friend at work, talking about weightloss. I mentioned my RNY, which I've never hid the fact that I've had it done, I'm not ashamed of it, and mentioned I've lost 119 lbs, showed pics that I keep. She was amazed, and gently asked how much, if anything, more I want to lose. I told her about 30, if it happens. And she looked at me and said. "Oh no, I think 30 would be too much for you to lose." You have no idea how good that made me feel. LOL... just thought I'd share. kissessssss — KellyJeanB (posted on April 7, 2004)

Something like that happened to me about a month ago. I was at a house of a
friends and I was standing in front of her full length mirror checking out
the outfit I had on. I commented that I didn't own any full length mirrors
because I was so fat and didn't like to look at myself. She got kind of mad
and said that I wasn't that big at all. I was on cloud nine the rest of the
night needless to say. 12/23/02 345/185

A lady at work asked me a couple of months ago if I was still losing. I
told her no but I wish I could lose maybe 5-10 more pounds. She said not
to, I look way too thin as it is. Me? THIN?!?!?!? Thats the first time
EVER in my life someone said I was thin. Life is grand. ~Sidney~ Open RNY

Isn't it great? At Weight Watchers, they brought in a special mirror that
is supposed to make you look 20 pounds thinner - I stepped in front of it,
and my husband took one look and said no way, that's too thin! I also
don't have full length mirrors in my house, as I was explaining to a
co-worker, because I don't want to see my nasty body from the neck
down...and when I make comments like this, my friends and co-workers get
mad because they think I look great! Too funny - I think it takes twice as
long for the brain to catch up to the weight loss and we finally accept it.

My boyfriend pokes at my ribs and tells me that I am too skinny...I have
between 25-35 lbs left to lose...it would put me between 128-118 lbs. I'm
only 5'0" so that is a good weight! But, never have I been told by
ANYONE that I am too skinny!

This has never happened to me before either and I'm 56 YEARS old. I wore a
size 12 yesterday for the first time ever as far as I can remember. The
lowest I ever remember wearing was a 14 and I was about 20 then and it was
SNUG! I had a friend tell me she was watching me during our Easter program
at church and she said, "You are just so pretty!" I've never had
anyone tell me that and I really didn't know what to say. I almost cried,
it made me feel so funny.

I was clothes shopping w/ my daughter and a medium sized woman was standing
by us holding up a top & I commented on how pretty it was, and she said
it would look cute on some one little like you and I turned & looked at
my "little" 21 y/o daughter who said "mom. she means
you" I was shocked then started laughing, the lady thought I was nutz
til my daughter explained.

I went shopping today with 2 of my friends and one friend's daughter. We
stopped at this store that specializes in evening wear. We are all
planning our children's bar and bat mitzvahs within the next 6 months to 1
1/2 years. One friends is a size 10-12 but thinks she is on the heavy end
of her weight scale. The other has just lost almost 50 pounds and now
wears a woman's size 16 (down from a 24). The daughter is around a size
11-13 Jr.. So we all picked out dresses for the daughter to try, and I
went into the pricey department and picked out a drop dead gorgeous dress
that cost WAY more than EVER consider spending. They pushed me into trying
it on. Whoa!!! The size 10 fit. You should have seen the looks I got in
the dressing room. This thing had a bare back with black sheer fabric and
I can't even explain the rest. I, as well as my friends were shocked. I
am SO loving this new me!!!!!
