Hello. I don't know anyone who has tried smokeaway, but two people in my
family have been prescribed Wellbutrin to stop smoking. My brother quit
smoking when he was 25 and he had been smoking since he was 11 (very
young!). His doctor prescribed him Wellbutrin and within four months later
he was not smoking anymore. He is saving a lot of money and doesn't have
to take smoking breaks every hour like he used to. He was very motivated
not to smoke though. It was a decision he made and he made it through.
The Wellbutrin just helped him do it though. It was his decision, but the
medicine was a helper or a tool like WLS in a way. After those four months
he didn't need the medicine anymore, so now he is 28 and still an official
non-smoker.
But then my sister who is 20 and has been smoking since she was 17 was
prescribed Wellbutrin and she was unable to quit smoking. She said she
will quit one day, but it will be when she reallys wants to do it for
herself. So the Wellbutrin isn't a miracle pill. It just helps you to
ease off smoking and eventually quit when you are ready. If you know you
really want to stop smoking then it might make the whole process easier,
but it's not a cure for the addiction itself.
I've seen the ads for smokeaway and it might be worth a try if you really
want to stop smoking. But I've been let down by so many infomercials and
ads on TV that I can't be enthusiastic about it. Best of luck to you. -
