Question:
What's a rough estimate for an abdominal pannilectomy?
I haven't had WLS yet (waiting for insurance approval) but I thought I could start saving up for PS. Any guesses? I have no idea how much it would be. — Lori S. (posted on March 24, 2004)

I'm three weeks post-TT and medial thigh lift today. I used Dr. Eric
Wiess, Jacksonville FLA.
Insurance covered my TT but the cost was $3500 for the doctor $600 for
anasthesia and $700 plus my $250 co-pay for the hospital. I also paid out
of pocket for my thighs and my dr. fee was $3250, anasthesia another $600
and the hospital room $561. Hope this helps.

I live in Ohio and my abdominoplasty was $4200 for the surgeon. It was
another $1100 for the surgery room and another $1100 for the anesthesia.

LOL - I was quoted a cash price of $8,700 before the procedure, in case my
insurance did not cover it. That was for nearly a belt lipectomy (he went
all but 4" all the way around).
Good news was that my insurance did cover it, because otherwise there was
no way I could have paid for it myself.
The insurance statements
are still rolling in, but it looks like closer to $28,000 to $30,000,
before the "discount" they give my insurance company
:)
Now why on earth is insurance so expensive?
I guess I am just
thankful to have it.
Good luck to you!
