Question:
Skin on legs
I am about 10 months out and down 110lbs. I didn't think my skin was looking too bad until recently. My legs were not really that big compared to my stomach but the skin seems to have fallen all of a sudden. I workout a lot and can see good mucsle tone on my leg but just above the knee there is a fold of skin that is very noticable when I stand with my legs straight. I am 33 years old but have knees that make me look much older. Did anyone else have this and did it get better in time? I think some of it may be from my stomach skin sagging because when I stretch my stomach up, this skin disappears. — Heather S. (posted on March 17, 2004)

I am over 2 years out and have the same issue. I am just hoping for a
miracle and be able to get plastic surgery. Surely they can fix that too
with the new Full Body Lift.
Sorry not much help here.

I was 10 months out and down 110 lbs (at goal) when I had my lower body
lift. It helped the back and outer thighs tremendously (no cellulite shows
now) but part of the front and all of the inner thighs still need work.
The skin puddles around my knees and the skin on the front/inner thigh
sways to and fro when I walk. (Yes, people stare). My plastic surgeon
says thighs are the worst part of prior MO bodies to get 'right' again.
He's doing surgery in the fall and says I can expect a 50% improvement in
the skin at the knees and 75% improvement of the appearance of front/inner
thighs. Seems us former MO folk have to have some cross to bear to remind
us of where we came from.

Hi. The skin will shrink as you lose weight, but when it stops, it's
usually for good. The body lift will improve this area,a nd I agree with
the 50% number....the knees are a long way away from the tummy incision, so
it's harder to get a good tightening of that area.

I have a "lip" of skin that hangs over the knee. It's been this
way now for well over a year. It's due to the weight loss and will not get
better since it's nothing but excess skin. I'm having the excess skin
removed my inner thighs in a couple of months and my PS is going to pull up
the skin in my thighs so far that it will take away that "lip" of
skin above my knees.

It doesn't get better. In fact, I think this year it's worse! I had a
full lower body lift and it helped the outer and back of the thighs, but
not the inner thigh or knee fold. I do need an inner thigh lift, but I'm
still paying off the LBL!

My legs were the worse part of me, I had folds of skin hanging down to my
knees. My PS said the only thing that would tighten that would be the
thigh lift with the scar that extends from groin to knee. Other PS's
suggested the inner thigh lift with the panty line incision, but I agreed
with the PS I finally selected that I had too much skin for that to have
worked. I do have the scar extending from groin to thigh, but the skin is
tight against my legs. I wear shorts and short skirts. The scars are
visible if I cross my legs. I don't regret my decision for a minute.
