Question:
Can someone give me somekind of detailed exercises on how to rid myself of this butt
shelf? I think im about ready to dust it off and put nick nacks on it. My butt seems to be shrinking and my top seems to be but i still have a huge belly and now this shelf. Could still having a belly cause this shelf to look so big? Im 5 months out and so far down 93 pounds with alot more to go but im getting there. Thank you in advance for your replys. Sally — Sally H. Walk!!!! My butt was HUGE (about 55 inches) and I had a large back porch!!
I walked for 30 minutes a day for about 7 months and then had my tt and my
butt looks a zillion percent better. It's now only 35 inches and the
walking has made it look really good in jeans. After you have a tt, you
will really see how proportionate you look.

This is going to sound crazy, but I have the opposite problem and I think
the solution is the same. When I lost my weight, I lost my butt
completely. I mean, really, really sad - flat and flabby. So, I've
started doing squats and spin classes. The spinning will trim off the fat
from the waist down and the squats will replace it with muscle. (That's my
theory, anyway, so far so good! :P) Whatever form you pick, just do
something aerobic and if you can, something toning. As long as you enjoy
it even moderately, you will stick with it. Good luck!

PILATES!!! It's a no impact exercise that emphasises balance and it also
tones your tummy, thighs, and butt. It is just great. Try it!

Sally, hate to break it to you, but, the only way to get rid of it, for me
at least, is PS - Lower Body Lift. I have lsot 122lbs and still have a
butt ledge. I work out alot and nothing has made it go away. Good Luck to
you.

I don't know if this will help, but I am over 2 years post op and never
exercised until a month ago. Needless to say, my butt looked awful, my
apron (the skin hanging down from stomach), I think that is what it is
called, and outrageously big saddle bags. I thought and had said many
times that the only solution for me was going to be plastic surgery. But,
you know what, since I started walking last month(I am up to 2.6 miles per
day), all three have began to get smaller. I thought there was not way my
apron would ever go away, but it is getting smaller with the walking. I am
so trilled. So, I think walking is a very good tool to help us with this
problem. Just my opinion.

Squats and lunges are great exercises for the butt/thigh area. If you are
unsure how to do them, just do a search on google and I am sure you will
find detailed explanations with pictures. Good luck.
