Question:
Anyone have post-op hernia or adhesions???

I would just like to know if anyone has had a hernia or adhesion post-operatively and how long after surgery this occurred and specifically what the SYMPTOMS of each could be...I suspect I may have either.    — Tara C. (posted on January 24, 2004)

I have both. The hernia developed about 3 months post op and has gotten pretty large. I first noticed when I coughed it felt funny just above my navel and when I felt of it I could push it back in now I have a grapefruit sized ball just above my navel. I don't plan on getting it reparied until I have gotten closer to my goal so maybe I have have it and the Panni done at the same time. As for adhesions all around my navel area I would feel pulling and a burning sensation. Im hoping this call all be removed with the Panni also. I had 2 prior Lap surgeries so I had a lot of scar tissue to begin with.

1/24/04--Hi I had my surgery 9/9/02, by January 22, 2003 I had to have my gallbladder removed, and in doing so, they found out my body had created several adhesions, it was so bad they couldn't remove my gallbladder laporscopicly, they had to re-open my incision.
