Question:
I really don't eat much and I am worried that I won't lose much weight.
I am worried my body will go into starvation mode and will not lose weight. I try real hard to get my water in but I am lucky if I get 40oz of water in a day. I try to eat only things with protein init but I don't get that much. What do people in the early post op days eat? — Tricia K. (posted on January 6, 2004)

Your appetite will return. As long as you are getting your ptotein drinks
in, I wouldn't fret too much. But you should concetrate on water. You
won't lose weight if you aren't drinking enough water.

I had the same concern over the holiday. I do exceptionally well on my
program with vites, protein, water and eating during the workweek. Working
keeps me on a schedule. But on the weekends i'm notorious for not eating
and getting my water in. Anyway, I was on vacation during the holidays.
There were days I didn't eat a bite all day. I didn't do any protein shakes
and when I did eat, it was whatever. No attention to protein. Well I just
knew when I stepped on the scale monday that I was going to be sorry. I was
blown away to find I had lost 6.8 lbs in 7 days. In addition to not
eating/eating properly, I consumed many alcoholic beverages (not at one
time, but over the holiday period). I know all of these things are a big NO
NO and I was prepared to do some serious exercise and eating, but to my
surprise I was spared this time. I don't know why, but the body is a
mysterious thing.
