Question:
Actigall
My doctor just put me on actigall for a 6 mon. period to avoid gallstones. Has anyone taken this and were there any sideeffects? Pat — Pat B. (posted on December 12, 2003)

Our surgeon puts all of his patients on it. I had gallstones before my WLS
and ended up having the gallbladder removed anyway, about one year post-op.
But I don't think there were any, or many other of his patients that needed
to have it removed with being on the Actigall.<br>
I have not heard of any side effects from that drug - I didn't notice any.

Pat,
I am just about to finish my six month prescription on Monday. I haven't
noticed any side effects at all. My doc puts everybody on it too. Renee

I've been on it for 6 months now, and have 6 more 1-month prescriptions. I
sure hope I can go off soon .... it's costing me $150/month, and that's
AFTER my script card! Has anyone else gone off after 6 months, and what
were your results. I sure don't wanna develope gallstones, but the expense
is killing me.

My doctor is now prescribing Actigall sp? for the first 6 mos. I was never
on it and never missed it! I just used fitday.com and made sure that I had
enough fat that my system wasn't shocked--cheese, smashed avocado, etc. The
nurse said I was doing fine and I may not need it at all.
