Question:
For the girls out there....
I have heard that people tend to lose weight at only certain times of the month. Is it before your period ( 1 or 2 weeks) or is it after you get your period? — Heather S. (posted on November 11, 2003)

I read once that it is the best time to start trying to lose weight during
your monthly cycle...

I think that we all lose differently. But personally, and I've read other
profiles with similar feedback, I tend to lose the majority of the weight
loss for the month in the week before and the week of my period.

I tend to lose weight after my period. I guess we are all different! Good
luck!

I have always tended to gain a few pounds (probably water weight) right
before my period starts. It's usually back off by the end of the period.
I don't usually lose weight during the period itself, and lose better the
week or so after.

My weight loss pattern is definitely in tune with my cycle. I lose just a
little the week before, nothing the week of, a big drop the week after, and
then a smaller amount the following week, and then start the pattern over.
This has been fairly consistent since surgery.

I tend to crave sweets and extra food the week before and during my period.
I then slack off right after my period and lose the weight then.

Heather,
For me, I do not lose any weight the week prior to my period and may even
go up a lb or two. The week of and after is when I generally lose my
weight now.
