Question:
Where can I get information on the MIDband?
I am a 28 year old pre-op weighing in around 260lbs and am 5'4". I have researched the LAPband for the last year. I have been hearing lately about the MIDband. From what I have heard it seems to be a mover efficient version of the LAPband. I can't seem to find anything on the web about it. I would like to know all I can about it. Anyone know anything? Thank you and have a great day! — saras (posted on November 6, 2003)

Have never heard of it. What would make it more efficient. The LAP band
is very adjustable so that seems pretty efficient to me. Unless you add in
a bypass I don't know how you could make a LAP band more efficient. Where
did you get the info from in the first place. I also would NOT want to be
the guine (sp?) pig on something totally new. I'll go with something more
proven any time. JMO

Hi Chris! I heard about the MIDband from another support group on
spotlight.com. One of the members has one and she seems to be doing very
well with it. Since obesityhelp has a wealth of information, I thought
that someone here would know something.
