Question:
I heard some types of medications that contain sugar can make you dump

but i guess I want to know if the chewable vitamins and the b-12 pills can also make you dump also since they seem to contain some type of sugar.    — shae7755 (posted on November 3, 2003)

I personally have never dumped from medication, but I have a pretty high tollerace for sugar. I also have to mention here that you shouldn't be taking your B-12 in the form of a pill. :)

Hi, the chewable vitamins don't contain enough sugar to make you dump. After a while, you should move on to adult vitamins, that you can swallow whole. Also, vitamin b-12 should NOT be taken in pill form...not the kind you swallow. Your stomach doesn't have the ability to process the pill and absorb the b-12. You need to get your b-12 in a sub-lingual pill. This means you place the pill under your tongue, let it melt and then swallow. It tastes fine (mine tastes like cherries) and takes maybe 10 minutes or so, to dissolve. Taking b-12 in a swallowable form will do you no good at all. Good luck.

Hi, I am on Chewable Centrum Adult vitamins and have not had a problem with dumping. And I do not have a high tolerance for sugar, I dump anything that even hints at sugar in it, so I felt lucky to find one I could take that wasn't a childrens vitamin. It does have sugar but apparently such a low level it does not effect me. (these are supposed to taste like orange, as if, but then does any of them taste that great when you have to chew them) :)Good Luck, ((hugs)) DebbyB/IA
