Question:
Chewable vitamins?
Doc started me on chewable vitamins, and I bought "Spring Valley" childrens complete which compares to Flinstones but 1/2 the price. The taste gags me. Anyone know if the actual Flinstones (or other acceptable brand) taste any better? — Cherie A. (posted on October 31, 2003)

I've been on Flintstone's ever since my RNY. I, too, tried the
"generic" brand, hoping to save money. YUCK!! Those babies went
into the trash pronto and I went back and bought the real McCoy. I
personally like the taste of Flintstones. Best of luck to you. Lisa Ann,

If there is a Vitamin Shoppe in your area, I use Nature's Plus Adult
Chewables. They taste like Pinapple. I also use Children Gummy Vites a
Complete Multivitamin that I buy from Costco. They are very good tasting
Gummy Bears.

I use Centrum Adult Chewables and I don't mind the taste of them and I only
have to take one of these per day. Good Luck finding something that you
like.

I recently tried the Centrum adult chewables and YUK. I went back to my 2
Flintstones chewables, and I'm 20 months post-op! Just like the taste and
its one less pill to swallow.

Hi, I personally use the Centrum adult chewables, but my friend says she
likes the Bugs Bunny children's chewables much better than the Flintstones.
Hope this helps!

I really like the Rite-Aid store brand of children's chewables. They have
a little fruity tart taste and chew up really well. And, the price is
right. You can order them on-line from drugstore.com if you don't have a
Rite-Aid near you.

I take my flinstones right before I eat a meal so the taste doesn't stay in
my mouth. Also, by planning them with a meal, I remember to take them more
frequently.

Centrum adult chewables are orange flavored and not too bad. I recently
switched to Shaklee Vita-Lea Ocean Wonders children's chewable and they are
good not that gross "vitamin" flavor of a chewable. You really
need to have your doctor check out the contents of other vitamins before
you make the big switch. Just so you are getting the supplements that he
wants to to have.

I got the Target brand and tried them to save money and they don't taste
bad to me at all. I guess everyone's taste is different. You might give
them a try.

Target Childrens Complete is great, as well as Trader Joe's brands. If you
want to pay the full price, then the Warner Bros. brand (Tweety Bird, Bugs
& Taz are on the front) are good also. While I take a full adult multi
vit/min now, I still take them as a 'treat' occassionally in the morning
and I am over 2 years out. You will probably find you go through $$ until
you find a brand that you love.
I now take the Curves (fitness facility for women) Brand of liquid vitamins
because it hits your system and is immediately and almost completely
absorbed. The vitamin/mineral components are from organic sources rather
than chemical or rock. Less waste over all, and it gives a really great
"rush" to your system when it hits each morning. All my best! ~

I did the same thing, bought "spring valley" but couldn't stomach
them, so I bought the Flintstones sugar free, I just told hubby today,
having a hard time chewing those too, even sugar free gags me, like it is
full of sugar. Thinking of trying Centrum complete, heard they now have
chewable. Patricia 9-30-03 314/276/190

I take the Bariatric Lifestyles chewable vitamin. They're made by the same
company that makes Real Meals. I get a 3 month supply for $25 and actually
look forward to taking them 2 x's each day! They are specifically
formulated for Bariatric patients. It's worth it to me! Shelly lap RNY
