Question:
Not a Question,, just a statement and a boast!!!

I'm proud of myself. I am down 83lbs. (RNY Lap 5/15/03) Today I walked in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk here on Long Island. I'm achy.. my feet hurt my legs hurt my back hurts.. BUT!!!!! I made the whole 5 miles.. I got a wonderful morning of excersize. AND I did something that will benefit millions of people. I'm pretty proud of myself. Thank you for letting me boast.~~~!!!!    — KellyJeanB (posted on October 19, 2003)

You should boast girl! Way to go! That's a wonderful accomplishment for only having had your WLS 5 months ago. Enjoy the aches, you've earned them. And thanks for walking for such a worthy cause. {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}} What's next, Mt. Everest?

Way to go, Kelly Jean! I too, just did a walk for charity (Diabetes Walk in Albuquerque) and finished the 6.25 miles. Yes, I am also sore and tired, but a year ago I would never have even thought of testing myself in this fashion. Good for you (and anyone else who has done a charity walk) and congrats on finishing and helping others!

Kelly: Thanks for sharing. It is one of my goals to do just that! I also want to thank you for sharing your weight loss with us as I had surgery the day before you on am down 81 pounds, but seem to be stalling. You gave me assurance that I am on schedule! Good luck to you! And thanks for bringing my spirits up!

Good For You!!! I didn't do anything as admirable but I did go to the Smithsonian National Zoo yesterday (pretty big and really spread out!) and when I went to bed last night I realized that after all that walking and climbing up hills and just standing around - my back, legs, knees, and feet didn't hurt and I wasn't totally miserable! That in itself is a major accomplishment for me!

Awesome! You should be proud of yourself! What a wonderful way to feel good about yourself and what you have accomplished: by helping someone else. I bet you never thought you would be able to do that before surgery!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am very proud of you. What a worthy cause. To know you can walk like that now, and not before, is stellar. You should be VERY proud of yourself. I am proud of you. Kathy....Open RNY, June 23, 2003....295/220/170
