Question:
does anyone know what a dermatolipectomy is?
Hi I got approved for a breast reduction and a dermatolipectomy, I thought it would say pannilectomy but the letter says dermatolipectomy, anyone have a clue as to what that is? Nicole — nicole79 (posted on October 17, 2003)

Here is a definition from
http://www.beautysurg.com/resources/glossary_d.html Dermatolipectomy -
surgical removal of excess skin and fat it is another term for tummy tuck!
Congrats on your approval. Do you have a date yet? I am having my TT w/
hernia repair and revision from a past breast reduction on November 17th!
Good Luck!

Congratulations! on your PS approval. I know I'm going to want and need a
breast reduction and TT. If they make me an "A" I'd be very very
happy. . . .The "girls" weigh 5 pounds each and are down to my
waist:-{. . . .I'm pre-pre-op moving forward every day to being a Winning
Loser.

Dermatolipectomy is simply removal of excess skin and fat together. The
language of the insurance companies is not as specific as used by your
physician, so its unclear sometimes. A panniculectomy is one type of
dermatolipectomy.

Thank you all for your help! I have a date of Jan 7. I go to school and
work so i have to plan it around them. I also was told for the best results
to do them in seperate procedures. I am doing the breast reduction in May.
