Question:
Surgeon says they do a 100 cm biliopancreatic limb and 150 cm roux limb
I apologize for sounding ignorant but can someone tell me what this means? I know this is what is being bypassed. Is the first number for DS surgery and the second for RNY surgery? Is 150 cm a sufficient amount to lose weight? Many thanks for all your help. — blank first name B. (posted on October 17, 2003)

The BPD (biliopancreatic) is usually associated with the DS, but not
always. 150cm is as far as they go for a RNY, most of us have 100-150 cm
bypassed so yet, 150 is definitely enough bypass to loose weight.
