Question:
ice cold protein drinks
Iam pre-op and have been trying different protein drinks. I have found I prefer them blended with ice or frozen fruit. Can I do this post-op? Pat — Pat B. (posted on October 13, 2003)

I always made mine with crushed ice or frozen fruit, my nurse ok'd this.
The only reason I don't anymore is because I don't feel like washing the
blender. I still add ice cubes, though. I drink the Nectar protein mixed
with Crystal Light. Hugs,

Yes allot of ppl do that i have done it when i have the fruit. Just be sure
to watch and see if any sugar is added to the fruit if it is then get some
that does not have sugar added

Pat, since about 5 days post-op, I have been drinking GNC Pro-95 vanilla
& chocolate (soy-based) blended with frozen strawberries and/or bananas
& ice. It's a wonderful & tasty way to get in the protein. I have
one in the morning on my way to work and another after dinner as my
dessert. Even my kids like it! Good luck to you!

I am 9 days post-op and started mixing mine with the frozen fruit bars.
They say if you use the real or frozen fruit to soon the seeds can cause
some pain. So I am not chancing it for now. Edys makes a GREAT real fruit
bar, make sure that it says NO SUGAR ADD across the front of the box.
