Question:
Anthing better than Pro Complex?

The protein supplement I've been using is costing me 350 cals. I remember something being mentioned about a liquid supplement.Has anyone heard of this? Are there any supplements out there as good(health wise) as Pro-complex but not as high calorie?    — Jennifer T. (posted on October 13, 2003)

Have you considered protein shakes? It's hard to find one that tastes good, and of course, you need to read the label to avoid unwanted carbs, fats, and sugars, but ... if you find a good one, it's a great way to get your protein in and keep you "on track." I went to vitalady.com and got many single-serving samples to try (no, I don't work for them!), and found Proscore 100 Chocolate to be the best for my particular taste. (Many others I tried I really didn't care for, which is why I recommend trying many different single-serving samples before giving up on protein shakes.) Chocolate Whey Stack is also good, and I also liked ProBlend 55 Swiss Chocolate. Proscore 100 Chocolate has 160 calories per two-scoop serving, which is 32 grams of protein. The others are close to that, nutritionally, and I think you can also find the ProBlend 55 at GNC, and wlssuccess.com also sells some of these and other brands. Good luck!

You can try SPIRU-TEIN. It is a high protein energy meal which will run you roughly 200 calories. It comes in many flavors and tastes pretty good. Does anyone have feedback on this drink?

First, if you're making all 55g at once, you're only getting half your money's worth. If you're adding much else besides water, you're getting calories you don't need. Stick to 30g protein at one sitting. OK, part two, there are 100 others that are as good as or BETTER than PC. There are plenty that are not in this league, but many are. Whey is preferable, and roughly delivered in 30g of protein, less than 200 cal, less than 6g sugar. Don't care about carbs or fats. Mixes in water. I'm a ProScore 100 or Pure Whey Stack girl myself. Chocolate. Like there's anything else? Been using PS100 forever, so I know 32g protein = 160 cal + 3g sugar.

Hello, I am still pre-op so I don't know if my tastes are going to change, but i really like the Isopure zerocarb premixed bottled drinks. It comes in 5 flavors and you can find them at Rios medical and Health supply, or any Vitamin Shoppe, you can go to their website and find other stores that carry it. .... http://www.loseforless.com/isopure.html .... it has per 20oz bottle, 190cals, 0 carbs, 0 fats, 0 sugar, 40gms protein, and 5gms L-Glutamine. there are a couple of others: Real meals....http://www.protein-solution.com/.... liquid protein-http://www.llorenspharm.com/proteinex.htm ....sample servings of protein drinks: http://www.pricelesssupplements.com/sampleservings.html ...more samples: http://www.wlssuccess.com/samples.htm ....you will have to go to these sites and get the stats on the other stuff, they vary according to product. I hope this helps. Lisa (lap/rny 10-23-03)
