Question:
Should I worry if I took a calcium tablet?
I took a calcium tablet this morning. Thinking about it now, I don't feel anything is wrong, however, it was a pretty big pill. My gall bladder tablets are capsuls and are about the same size, so should I be worried about constipation or the tablet breaking down? — Kristin K. (posted on October 2, 2003)

I take Citracal tablets every day and have no problems with them at all.
In fact, I have no trouble taking any oral medication and haven't since I
started taking capsules when i was 8 days post-op.

I wasn't thinking and popped a pill right in my mouth and swallowed about 5
days postop. I called my doc's office right away and she said most of us
make this mistake at least once. If it didn't hurt pretty much right away,
it wasn't going to cause a problem. If they are big, though, I would try
to remember to split them. I have even split them before I put them in my
daily reminder box to save time.

I take citrucal horse pills. I used to always break them up til one dy I
noticed when my hands were a little damp that they were dissolving in my
hand. I took them whole and NO problem at all.I think by taking w/ plenty
of water they just melt right away, never had a problem at all.
