Question:
The inconsistency of dumping?
Hi! I had rny almost 4 months ago.I mildly dumped the first month on some diluted apple juice. It only lasted about 5 minutes with some nausea, mild stomach cramping and just an overall feeling of crappiness. The second time I dumped was about 2 months out on some canned pears. That time was a little worse and lasted about a half hour with stomach cramps, sweating, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.Last night I dumped for the third time and it was so bad I wanted to die.The strange thing is that it was something that I had eaten before with no problem.I had a Lucerne sugar free chocolate covered ice cream bar.I've had these twice before without any dumping. But last night about 5 minutes after I ate it I started to have very severe, stabbing stomach cramping that lasted an hour and was so excruciating that I could hardly breathe.Even though this episode was different than the other two I'm guessing that this was dumping also because it was over in an hour and the symptoms hit right after I ate the bar??? — jennifer A. I am 14 months post RNY and I have had this happen many times, I can eating
something with no problem one time, then next time it's aweful... I've
mostly gotten used to it, and try to take it slowly... I've wanted to die
more than once! LOL! Most recently the gluclose test (I am pregnant)...
they gave me this orange soda type stuff with 50g of sugar (so I am told)
and I was sick... it was not pretty at all!!! Plus I had to drive myself
home!!

I'm 3.5 years out and have the same, which is good because since it's so
unpredictable I never cheat away from home. I do find on an empty stomach
or going in too quick (liquids or eating too fast) it's worse. I think its
a good thing because it keeps me in line.

I have had this happen before, most recently on pizza. Occasionally we
have ordered pizza and Ill be able to finish 1/2 to 3/4 of one piece.
Well, the other day I only had a few bites and then just a short time later
I became real nauseated and started vomiting. This also happens on,
believe it or not, sugar free lemonade. I take a few sips of that and I
start having really bad stomach pains and diarrhea. I dont get it. Must
be the citric acid content in it.

bites and I am sick for an hour. I don't have amedical reason as to why it
