Question:
Can anyone recommend a Lawyer in the Chicago area?

I know I am going to get denied by BC/BS of IL. (PPO) I just know it!! There have been many people in my support group who have been denied by them with higher BMI's and more severe co-morbidities than what I have. I am going to appeal and I want to do it right the first time. If anyone knows of a lawyer in the Chicagoland area who knows insurance law let me know. Just getting prepared! Thanks!    — Kara J. Hi, We are in NY. My cousin on Long Island and a friend in Brooklyn both used the Lindstroms who are in California with SUCCESS!!!!!! You might want to give them a call. Everything was done over the phone, by fax and by mail. Good luck!!!!!

first, take a deeep breath. If you have not yet been denied, I was approved by bc/bs ppo in a matter of a couple days after they recieved my info from my doc. no hassles no grief. I called them and talked to them before they got my stuff and asked them if it was covered on MY policy (thru electricians union) after they looked it up to be sure(they said they were sure before they looked it up but I insisted) it was no prob if I was 100% above my recommended weight. They didn't really seem to care about anything other than height /weight. didn't care about Psych eval -didn't have one, no sleep study, didn't really want to see my diet history even. The office I called actually had several employees that had had wls in the recent past, were very familiar and supportive.
