Question:
I'm 8 days post-op and need help with my diet
I was pretty sick for about 3 days and I'm off schedule. Can you give me an idea on what you are (were) eating at this time post-op? Thanks for any info. — SJP (posted on September 16, 2003)

Hi. I hope you are feeling better. I am on day 11 and just started the
blended diet. The first 2 weeks I was on liquids. I was supposed to have 32
oz. of water and 16 oz. of protien. The water included water, SF kool aid,
propel, SF jello, and SF popsicles. The protien was liquid protien drinks,
Carnation instant breakfast(no sugar added), cream soups made with skim
milk. I drank as much as I could and tried to get all I was supposed to.
The sugar free popsicles were the best.

I am 7 days post-op and I am now in the full liquid stage. That includes
your broth, sugar-free popsciles and fudgesciles, carnation instant
breakfast (made with skim milk), sugar free pudding, protein drinks, decaf
tea and coffee...among many other things. If you would like the whole
list...email me and I will be more than happy to send it to you. I had my
surgery at BTC and they gave me a book for eating for life. I know every
surgeon is different...but they really should have gave you some lists of
what you can and can not have and how much protein you need.
