Your profile has very little information, so it's hard to help you. It
appears that you're about two and a half months post-op. Did your
dietitian or surgeon give you an eating plan? If so, follow that. How
many grams of protein are you supposed to eat a day? Do you use protein
shakes? Personally, since week four, I've eaten four times a day
(sometimes a fifth with an evening snack), and have one protein drink a day
(I like the Rocomojo soy protein "coffee" rather than the thick
shakes). I get in 64 to 80 grams of protein that way, but eat little else.
I have a few bites of fruit or veggies a day, and no refined carbs (at
least, rarely). I have two cups of Rocomojo when I get up in the morning.
Breakfast is cottage cheese or deli lunch meat rolled up with cheese, or
yogurt with Grape Nuts and fruit. Lunch is two to three ounces of meat or
fish with some kind of sauce or salad dressing, and a couple of bites of
veggies or salad. A late afternoon snack is a handful of nuts, two ounces
of string cheese, or a small protein bar. Dinner is similar to lunch. If
I feel hungry later in the evening, I'll have a protein-based snack (a
handful of nuts, or an ounce of cheese, or a handful of sesame sticks or
some deli lunch meat). That works well for me, but I don't know what kinds
of food you are supposed to be eating, or how much protein you are supposed
to get in, or what else your doc told you about food.

Last time I went to BTC for my 3 month check up I told them I only eat 4
times a day, duirng regular meal periods and a second dinner later. I was
told to eat 6 times a day. Since my schedule is crappy being a teacher and
very busy the rest of the time, I drink a protein shake when I get up at 6,
then I snack on cheese or cottage cheese at 9ish right before the kids get
there. Then my lunch is at 11:30. The kids and I leave school at 3, when
I might snack again if I am hungry or I wait until 5 for dinner. I eat
again at 8 or 9 ish before bed. So I am eating about 5-6 times a day now.
This month I lost more weight than last, so it must be working.

I never could figure out how anyone could eat enough to get in all their
protein without the protein powder/drink. I still can't. I can only do 1-2
ounces of, say, chicken with some fresh veggies or salad. I never wanted
to do the several, small meal thing. I am deathly afraid of developing the
snacking syndrome. I eat three meals a day except for those days where I
seem ravenous. Then I will eat some extra protein. Thank goodness I do
not have to do this on a regular basis. Frequent eating can pile on the
calories.
