Question:
I weigh 219 and am wondering if anyone who began at this weight has lost to much
I am afraid that because I am only 219# that I will lose too much weight!Has this happened to anyone else?If this happens what can you do to stop losing? — natalie J. (posted on September 4, 2003)

I worry about this too. I have seen a few people post that they can't stop
losing. One lady in the past few months weighed 92 lbs and couldn't stop.
Her doc was trying to help her and they were worried. But those cases are
rare and far in between. As Donna said, most of us will stop when our
bodies settle in at a certain weight. But like you, I do worry about this.
I am 5'1" and started at 228. I now weight 150 in just over six
months and am still losing about 10 pounds the past three months. Some
days i worry that it time for me to slow down and i won't get to my goal
weight. Other days, i worry about losing too much. I guess I'll just have
to wait and see.

Hi... I started at 228 and am also 5'1". I am 13 months out and am
currently about 128. I hit a HUGE plateu in June, and remained at 137 for
the entire summer, and then boom, then the last few pounds came off- I was
surprised, and a little scared because everyone is saying I have lost
enough. My goal weight is 125. I also heard your body finds a comfortable
weight and settles in...Also, we discussed this at my support group meeting
and they said that even if you dip below your goal, usually a year or so
out people may gain a little...so you are actually giving yourself a
cushion. Good Luck!

Unless I missed it in someone else's answer, the way to stop losing weight
is to take in the amount of calories you need to maintain tht desired
weight. Voila!
