Question:
Has anyone had an abdominoplasty at 7-8 months post-op
I am 5 1/2 months post-op and only 25lbs from goal. I have lost a total of 105lbs and am hoping to weigh in at 150lbs when I reach goal. I am still losing steadily, about 3-4 pounds per week so I'm hoping to reach goal by about Halloweeen. My question is...is there anyway to keep from losing more weight if I were to have a tummy tuck at about 8 months post-op. I have had four children and I have an apron and terrible stretch marks so I know there isn't anyway that my skin will bounce back. My doctor doesn't want me to lose anymore than 25 more lbs maximum so if I go ahead and get my tt then with an RNY would it be possible to maintain that weight and keep from losing more after the TT. Just curious because I have insurance ending at the first of the year and want to try and get approval before then. Also, I have famiy coming from out of town for a few months and can help me with the kids while I recover. Thanks for any input! I had mine at 9 months PO and have dropped about 15 pounds in the 3 months
after surgery and have been steady for 2 months. I have added a few more
carbs to my menu since I exercise daily and I dont really lose anything.
Seems as though my body likes this weight. Go talk to the PS he should have
an opinion, MIne felt like as long as I was less than 20 pounds from goal
and didnt lose more than that my results would not be compromised. I guess
he knows wht he is talking about! Good luck, Lesley

I went to the plastic surgeon last week. Im 8 mos out. Im 30 lbs from goal.
I would like to wait till Nov. but may have to wait till Jan due to work.
He is doing the preauth now. he said I have about 10 - 15 lbs of skin to
get rid of. he said the may only pay to trim the excess and not a full
abdominoplasty. if not I'll pay the difference. also getting a breast
reduction but I want the stomach first. its the worst. I can tuck the
breast away. good luck.

I forgot to mention that I was near goal at the time of my plastic surgery
but I still lost an additional 7 pounds. Good Luck.
