Yes, this is a very common med for low potassium. And, i might add, a very
good one.

My husband had to take this for awhile after surgery.

Yep, I had to take a potassium prescription after surgery, it was a liquid
and yucky tasting.

I was hospitalized for being dehydrated and having low potassium and
magnesium. Afterwards they gave me really large pills to take with food.
Um, how exactly are we supposed to do that when we aren't supposed to eat
and drink together? But the doctor said just take two small sips to get
the pills down and then go ahead and eat. It was hard and I was glad when
a month or so later my levels came up enough to get off those meds. I
think I'd rather have the yucky tasting liquid than huge pills at 6 weeks
post op.
