Question:
I am 9 wks post-op. Is there an average % of weight loss to expect each month?

How many lbs or what % of total weight loss should you expect to lose 1 month post op? 2 months? 3 months? etc.Is there some table or guideline for this. My surgeon is very vague. Just "your loss is going well" That is so vague. Any help on realistic expectations?    — jodi A. (posted on August 14, 2003)

If you click on the Gallery link at the top of the page, then click on the link to the Weight Loss Planner beneath the 'Fun Things To Do' heading, you will find a tool that might help you. You will enter your starting weight, height and the % of excess weight that you want to lose. Just use this as a guideline though and not something to get overly excited or depressed about since everyone loses differently. Another guideline that I read is that during months 7-12, you will lose 1/2 of your loss in months 0-6, and during months 13-18, you'll lose 1/2 of your loss from months 7-12. Again, just a guideline. Hope these suggestions help.
