Question:
4 Months Post Op- 2 Pound Gain, why?
In the past 2 weeks I have gained 2 pounds I am 4 months post op. I started a new job last week so I dont get to exersise like I used to but I am not eating any different.. I think its water weight since my rings are getting tired.. How do we get rid of this excess water? Its driving me in sane... Has this happened to anyone else? — Catherine B (posted on August 2, 2003)

Yes, I'm also 4 month post-op and am frustrated by excess fluid I have
hiding how much weight I have lost. Check out my profile. Just remember
it's long term that matters, so slight fluxuations now should worry us so
much....but they do.

Worry about a 10 or 15lb gain, not a 2 lb gain. Wom,en especially have
problems with water retention which for me can be 1-8lb gain in a 24hr
period, then I have to increase my diuretic (per my Dr). I have this happen
all of the time. If you check the library you will se just how normal that
2lbs gain is. Many people have it. Hang in there, best wishes -

Two pounds isn't too much to worry about - and since you mentioned you
didn't exercise, you therefor didn't burn up the fuel like you had been
previously. Once you settle into your new job and get back to exercise, it
will come back off.
