Question:
Fistula developed at 5 weeks
I woke up one morning to throwing up for hrs, which turned into days. The Dr. found that I had a gastric fistula that had formed between the old and new stomach. I had surgery to remove the fistula but the surgeon was unable to completly seal the leak from where the fistula was. It has now been several weeks and the leak is still there. I will be leavin the hospital on TPN ( IV) nutrition. Has this ever happened to anyone else? How long did it take to heal itself. I was told it may take up to three months. — Heather S.
