Distal RNY does have greater weight loss but can also have serious complications caused by nutrient deficiencies. Since you're in the early stages, may I suggest you look into the DS? There's a section on it here in AMOS or check out duodenalswitch.com. Being in Ohio, you're lucky to have some great DS surgeons nearby, including Dr. Hess, who developed the procedure.
