Question:
Hi All, i have a question that maybe someone can answer,
I have HealthNet of CT, I have been aprroved for a abdominoplasty with a 1 day stay in hosp. I will also be having a large vertral herina repair with my WLS doc. My question is the PS also but down Hip Lipectomy witch was denied, do you always need lipo on hips with a TT? Should I appeal this or pay the extra? what I mean if i don't have any PS should the hips be a concern? will I look funky without lipo? Thanks, Sandi — Sandra B. (posted on July 11, 2003)

When my mom had her tummy tuck they didn't even have lipo yet, so I am sure
it is not required. However, if your hips are large in proportion to the
rest of your abdomen/legs, you should consider it for what it is - plastic
surgery. How much is it worth to you - in dollars?

I had lipo on my hips along with my extended TT and I'm so glad after I saw
one who didn't cause she didn't want to pay the extra. It looked like she
had a 'blob' sitting there. It looked funny and kinda 'deformed'. After she
saw mine, she now regrets not having it done. Actually, my Dr. includes it
(I was also self pay) cause he is a perfectionist and wanted to make sure
his patiends look 'normal' and that clothes will fit properly. I would pay
the extra. Its definately worth it.

I had a full abdominoplasty and I didn't need liposuction on my hips. They
looked fine. MUCH better after the abdominoplasty. I looked like I had
lost about 100 pounds when in reality I lost 5.
