Question:
At 9 weeks Post-Op, is it too strenuous to mow the lawn?
I'm 9 weeks post-op and have been having someone mow my lawn and I'm really ready to start doing it again myself. I exercise by power-walking 1 hour, 4-5 days a week and I feel really good. Do you think that pushing the mower would be too strenuous at this stage? I certainly don't want to risk hernia or any other complications. Hi, It just depends on how you feel, my doc said don't do anything heavy or
strainous for about the first 5-6 weeks, but after that do whatever in
moderation of couirse. I mowed my lawn at 9 weeks post-op, so go for it if
ya want!

As always, call your doctor for the best answer, but I was cleared to do
weight training at 6 weeks, so I'm sure you'll be just fine. Is it a power
mower? Even better (I have been using a push mower since 6 weeks out.)

I mowed my lawn at 10 days post op. I still had 53 staples and a 17.5 inch
incision. I had no problems/pains at all. I did attach a water bottle and
holder to my mower so I would'nt get dehydrated with all that pushing and
walking. Sounds like you are ready.

Check with your surgeon. Mine told me six weeks.
